Phoenix brings 'Wolfgang Amadeus' to the US
Following runs through Australia and Japan, French alt-rockers Phoenix will make a swing through the US later this summer behind their recent release, "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix."
The short, eight-city trek mixes festival appearances with intimate club shows, beginning with a Sept. 13 performance at Morrison, CO's Monolith Festival. The quartet, which will perform a two-night run Sept. 25-26 at New York City's Rumsey Playfield, will conclude the North American jaunt with an Oct. 2 stop at Austin City Limits Festival. Details are below.
"Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix," the group's fourth studio set, hit shelves in May. Recorded in Paris by Phillippe Zdar--one half of the French house music duo Cassius--the 10-track release follows "It's Never Been Like That," which surfaced in 2006.
Phoenix recently promoted the new record with appearances on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," as well as with a coveted spot as musical guests on an April edition of "Saturday Night Live."
