Pillar to answer 'Reckoning' with headlining tour

Christian alt-metal rockers Pillar will launch a headlining tour this fall to back their new studio release, "The Reckoning," which is set to ship Oct. 3.
The Oklahoma-based quartet, who toured last spring with fellow rockers P.O.D., will launch their "Days of Reckoning" outing Oct. 26 in Minneapolis. A trio of opening acts-- Day of Fire , The Showdown and Decyfer Down --will be on hand to add support to the 35-city tour, which runs through mid-December.
"The Reckoning," the band's fourth full-length album, was produced by Travis Wyrick and the group itself, and mixed by David Bendeth (Hawthorne Heights, As I Lay Dying). The disc follows up on 2004's "Where Do We Go From Here."
Pillar frontman Rob Beckley said in a press release that the theme of the new set takes its cue from the band's Midwestern, small-town upbringing.
"The majority of this country is small-town America and suburban living out in the middle of nowhere," Beckley said. "Those type of hardworking people, that's who we are, that’s where we come from. Rock and roll in the Midwest is rock and roll."
The first single from the album, "Everything," hit radio stations earlier in September and is currently streaming at Pillar's official site.
