Robin Thicke [ tickets ] will take his new music for one more short spin across the US before the year is up.

The Grammy-winning soul man has scheduled a few late-December dates to showcase material from his latest album, "Something Else," which surfaced in September. The run will take him through Birmingham, AL; Washington, DC; Atlanta; and Los Angeles. Details are listed below.

"Something Else," produced by Thicke and longtime collaborator Pro-Jay, reached No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and has scored a Top 10 R&B/hip-hop hit with the lead single, "Magic." The record is described as a modern tribute to '70s pop and soul, and Thicke said it's aptly titled.

"It's time for hope and change," the singer said in his bio. "It's in the air. And I'm speaking on the times around me."

He echoes the change with Superfly-era vocals, Gamble and Huff-inspired horn arrangements, lyrical optimism and an invitation to the dance floor.

"I don't want to be a preacher, but I do think at the core of every great existence is an abundance of love and joy, and the only way to create that is to give it," he added.

Tracks from "Something Else" and Thicke's new video for his latest single, "Sweetest Love," are streaming at his MySpace page.

"Something Else" follows the performer's platinum-selling sophomore set, "The Evolution of Robin Thicke," which spawned the No. 1 R&B/hip-hop single "Lost Without U." That album's success kept Thicke busy in the awards department, as he collected a slew of nominations and took home the VH1 Soul/Vibe Awards' Best Breakthrough Artist trophy and ASCAP's Song of the Year honor.

The multifaceted artist--the son of "Growing Pains" sitcom dad Alan Thicke and singer/soap star Gloria Loring--began writing and producing music at age 16 with no formal training. He has since amassed dozens of gold and platinum albums with the likes of Usher, Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson and Christina Aguilera, according to his bio.
