Eighteen years after breaking up, Roxy Music [ tickets ] is embarking on a tour that will hit 12 countries beginning on June 9, in Dublin, Ireland.

Roxy Music singer Bryan Ferry, saxophonist Andy Mackay and guitarist Phil Manzanera--best known for the songs "Do the Strand," "Virginia Plain," "Jealous Guy," Pyjamarama," "Street Life," "Love is the Drug" and "Avalon"--announced plans for the tour during a media luncheon on Monday (2/12) at London's Savoy Hotel in the Strand.

Fellow founding member Brian Eno, a successful producer, is sitting out the tour.

Tickets for the initial U.K. dates go on sale on Tuesday (2/13). After a European tour, Roxy Music will play a handful of dates in the United States and Canada. Although the dates were not released, certain cities--Toronto, Montreal, Philadelphia, Washington, Boston, New York, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles--are confirmed.

The group released eight studio albums from 1972 to 1983, the year it broke up. Ferry embarked on a solo career, while Mackay and Manzanera continued to work together on various musical projects. Mackay, who earned a bachelor of divinity degree, performed with Ferry during his 1988-89 solo tour. Manzanera and Mackay inked a deal with Virgin as the Explorers. Manzanera has also released several solo records, all of which are available at his official website, and co-wrote Pink Floyd's song "One Slip" for its 1988 album "Momentary Lapse of Reason."

During the holidays, Ferry was in the news after a Nairobi-bound jet on which he was a passenger nearly crashed after a man broke into the cockpit and tried to fly the plane.
