Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn 'Break Up' in September

Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn 's album of duets, "Break Up," is expected to hit retailers Sept. 8, according to the album's website.

The album, reportedly inspired by Brigitte Bardot's work with Serge Gainsbourg, follows the starlet's 2008 release, "Anywhere I Lay My Head," which is a collection of songs written by Tom Waits.

The nine-tracks on "Break Up," which tell the story of a tormented love-affair, reportedly were written two years before "Anywhere I Lay My Head." Eight of the tracks were written by Yorn, who said the album's concept came to him in a dream, The Guardian UK reported. One of the album's cuts was written by the late Chris Bell, who was a member of Big Star.

The first single, "Relator," is streaming at the project's website.
