Scorpions, Whitesnake, Dokken team for winter jaunt
In keeping with what has become a standard practice for '80s-era metal acts, the Scorpions , Whitesnake and Dokken are linking up for a U.S. outing.
The Scorpions and Whitesnake share top-billing as co-headliners, while Dokken holds down the tour's opening slot.
German rockers Scorpions continue to tour behind last May's "Bad For Good: The Very Best of the Scorpions," a best-of collection that the group released last May. In addition to hits such as "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "Still Loving You," the album also features two new tracks titled "Cause I Love You" and "Bad For Good."
Whitesnake, which made a name for itself with late-'80s hits such as "Still of the Night" and "Here I Go Again," has under gone numerous lineup changes over the years, but still features founding vocalist David Coverdale. The group hasn't released a new album since 1989's "Slip of the Tongue," though Coverdale did release his solo debut, "Into the Light," in 2000.
Southern California quartet Dokken released its latest, "Long Way Home," last April. The band is still fronted by namesake Don Dokken, who is backed by original drummer Mick Brown and relatively new members Barry Sparks (bass) and Alex DeRosso (guitar).
