Canadian rockers Silverstein [ tickets ] have put the finishing touches on their new album and they're previewing the material on an international outing.

Following last fall's tour to wrap up support behind 2007's "Arrivals & Departures," Silverstein holed up in the studio to record its fourth studio set, "A Shipwreck in the Sand," which is due March 31.

Fans will get a taste of the new material starting tomorrow (2/11), when the emo/screamo band kicks off its 2009 tour. The outing launches in South America, and from there, the group will head to Australia, stopping by Honolulu on the way. The US leg of the trek is set to get under way March 22 in Sauget, IL, and visit 37 cities from coast to coast through early May. The club/theater jaunt includes a couple of festival performances: the April 4 Bamboozle Left fest in Irvine, CA, and the May 3 Bamboozle in East Rutherford, NJ, which doubles as the tour finale.

The stateside dates, detailed below, include opening acts Norma Jean, Blessthefall and Before Their Eyes. Information about overseas shows is posted at Silverstein's website.

"A Shipwreck in the Sand," produced by Cameron Webb, appears to be a concept album broken into four chapters. The record's own special website includes a story of betrayal, arson, infidelity and true love on which the album is apparently based.

The forthcoming set is the followup to "Arrivals & Departures," which shot to the top of the independent albums chart and reached No. 25 on The Billboard 200.
