Slaid Cleaves plots dates for 'Everything You Love' run

Singer/songwriter Slaid Cleaves will soon launch an extensive US tour behind his first album of new material in five years.

The trek, which kicks off Friday (4/17) in New York City, is currently slated to make 36 stops from coast to coast through late September, including a two-night stand in Edmonton, Alberta. The full schedule is below.

The lengthy outing begins just days before the April 21 release of "Everything You Love Will Be Taken Away." The new studio effort, which reunited Cleaves with producer Gurf Morlix and co-writing partners Rod Picott and Adam Carroll, is Cleaves' first release on the co-op label Music Road Records and the follow-up to 2004's "Wishbones." Moving to the new label allowed the Texas-based musician to be more involved with the album's release, according to a press release.

Following the currently scheduled of tour dates, Cleaves will head over to the UK for a handful of October shows. A batch of early September West Coast stops will be announced in the coming weeks, as well as a December run with Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines, according to Cleaves' website.
