Smashing Pumpkins test drive teen drummer
Smashing Pumpkins are working with a new drummer, 19-year-old Mike Byrne, according to a statement posted at the band's website, which describes Byrne as an "exceptionally talented and gifted drummer" and says that "things are going very well."
Original Smashing Pumpkins' drummer Jimmy Chamberlin officially left the band in March. Byrne hasn't been named a full-fledged Pumpkin, but has recorded several demos with Billy Corgan and company, according to the statement.
