State Radio maps tour as 'Crow' flies
Alternative reggae-rockers State Radio are set to continue their current headlining tour, which finds the trio supporting its latest studio release, September's "Year of the Crow."
The Massachusetts-based band--which features guitarist/vocalist Chad Urmston (formerly of indie roots-rockers Dispatch), along with bassist Chuck Fay and drummer Mike Najarian--kicked off its outing in early October, with the group continuing its trek tonight (10/23) in Bozeman, MT.
The trio has 21 cities left on the outing, which comes to a close in late November with a New York City appearance as the final date on an East Coast leg. The band's remaining tour dates are shown below.
Australian roots rockers The Beautiful Girls, supporting their recently released third album, "Ziggurats," open all of State Radio's headlining shows beginning Nov. 1 in San Francisco.
Produced by Tchad Blake (Los Lobos, Tom Waits), "Year of the Crow" is the State Radio's second full-length studio album, following the band's 2006 debut, "Us Against the Crown." The trio has also released three EPs, including its 2002 recording debut, "Flag of the Shiners," and this year's "Wicker Plane" EP, which features the title song (also included on "Year of the Crow") as well as a pair of otherwise unreleased tracks, "Good Graces" and "Revolutionaries."
Video footage documenting the group's recording sessions for "Crow" can be found streaming at the band's YouTube user page.
