Steely Dan maps another round of 'Rent Party' shows

Veteran rockers Steely Dan will continue their "Rent Party '09" tour with shows this fall, including multiple-night engagements in several cities.

The trek kicks off Oct. 12 and 13 in Seattle, then continues to California for several dates, closing out the Western US run with an Oct. 27 show in Phoenix. A Nov. 8 date in Minneapolis, MN, concludes the outing. Details are included below.

The band will continue its special "Classic Album (Plus)" nights on the fall trek, during which Becker and Fagen will perform one of their past studio albums in its entirety, along with selections from throughout the group's career. On the fall outing, the band will offer various full-album performances in Seattle (10/12-13), San Francisco (10/23-25), Phoenix (10/27), Minneapolis (11/8) and San Jose, CA (10/20-21). Consult Steely Dan's website for further information.

The fall shows, along with the band's earlier summer trek, mark the fourth consecutive year that the pair has toured after avoiding consistent roadwork for several years. "Everything Must Go," the duo's most recent release, which surfaced in 2003, followed their first studio album in 20 years, 2000's "Two Against Nature." That record not only received double-platinum certification, but also won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

Though the pair was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 for their work with Steely Dan, they also have successful solo careers. Becker released his second solo album, "Circus Money," last summer, while Fagen most recently released 2007's "The Nightfly Trilogy," a boxed set featuring his three solo albums: "The Nightfly," "Kamakiriad" and "Morph the Cat."
