Steve Martin sets up video contest

Comic/actor/banjoist Steve Martin is offering a $1,000 prize to the winner of a video contest that ties in his album "The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo," his website and your favorite canine.

Martin is asking fans to make a video featuring their pet for the song "Wally On The Run," which he wrote for his dog, according to a press release. Details about the contest are posted at Martin's newly re-launched website.

After watching Martin talk about the contest on his own site, those interested in entering can surf over to DailyMotion.com to view the video the musician/comedian made for the song. There, you can download the song, upload your own video submissions and view videos from other entrants.

The contest began this week and runs through Dec. 1.

Martin, who is currently on tour with the Steep Canyon Rangers, will personally select the first-prize, $1,000 winner, according to a press release. The runner-up will receive $.99 as a refund for the purchase of the song.
