Street Sweeper added to NIN/JA tour

Street Sweeper --Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello's new band with The Coup's Boots Riley--has been tapped as the opening act for this summer's Nine Inch Nails/Jane's Addiction tour, according to a statement at NIN's website.

Street Sweeper's sound reportedly leans more toward the funk-rap-metal template of Rage Against the Machine rather than the more mellow, folk vibe of Morello's music as The Nightwatchman. The new group's first single, "Fight! Smash! Win!," is streaming at the Street Sweeper website. An album reportedly is in the works.

NIN frontman Trent Reznor, in an announcement posted at NIN's website, said the addition of Street Sweeper makes the upcoming NIN/JA tour "just that much cooler."

"We are aiming to make this much more than just three acts sharing a bill," he said.
