Dennis DeYoung plots more dates for symphonic tour

Former Styx singer Dennis DeYoung follows a December full of PBS appearances with a new round of tour dates that kicks off early next year.

DeYoung opens the new batch of shows on Jan. 9, and dates are scattered into May. Performances will feature DeYoung and his band backed by a local orchestra.

The set list will include hits that DeYoung recorded in the '70s and '80s while fronting Styx--including "Babe," "Lady," "Come Sail Away" and "Mr. Roboto"--as well as solo works and selections from his musical, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."

Fans can get a look at the production in December, when PBS airs an episode of its live-music series "Soundstage" that features DeYoung's performance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. DeYoung's website features a list of stations that will be airing the program.

DeYoung will promote the show with a series of live, in-studio appearances on PBS, according to his website.
