Styx maps summer tour with Boston

Classic rockers Styx have lined up fall headlining dates as they look beyond their current summer tour, which pairs them with fellow veteran act Boston .
The '70s FM radio stalwarts--who toured earlier this year with Def Leppard and REO Speedwagon --continue their current stint tonight (7/18) in Reno, NV, followed by a handful of headlining dates before re-connecting with Boston for a mid-summer run of shows kicking off July 23 in Chicago.
Next month, the band will hit the stage for another Leppard/Speedwagon show Aug. 23 in Detroit, a make-up date for a concert originally scheduled for April. Styx currently has dates lined up through October; details are below.
The group's latest release is 2006's "One With Everything," a live CD/DVD set that captures Styx performing its hit songs with The Contemporary Youth Orchestra of Cleveland.
The CYO--comprising a 115-piece orchestra and 56-person chorus, all members aged 13 to 19--joined the rockers for symphonic arrangements of popular Styx tunes including "Blue Collar Man," "Renegade" and "Too Much Time On My Hands." The concert was recorded at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, according to an article at the band's website.
Styx's most recent collection of original studio material is 2003's "Cyclorama." A more recent set, 2005's "Big Bang Theory," consists of Styx offering its take on classic rock songs originally performed by a lineup of artists that include The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and others.
