Superchunk shapes fall tour, opening act cancels
Indie-rock legend Superchunk will follow-up its current European tour with a trek across the U.S. The tour kicks off on Oct. 26 in the group's home state of North Carolina.
Welsh band Gorky's Zygotic Mynci was scheduled to support Superchunk beginning Nov. 6 at Los Angeles' Knitting Factory, but has canceled, and now plans to tour early next year. Superchunk has not yet named a new opening act.
Chapel Hill, N.C.-based Superchunk has been busy lately. The band released its tenth full-length, "Here's to Shutting Up" (Merge), in September, and played Japan for the first time in nine years in early October. The European tour followed the Japanese dates.
Fans of the band can hear drummer Jon Wurster on the new solo release from Son Volt frontman Jay Farrar.
