SXSW Performer: Augustana (San Diego, CA)

Willowy piano rockers Augustana decided to name their forthcoming album "Can't Love, Can't Hurt" to reflect the state of mind of the band members. "I feel like it kind of encapsulates the record," bassist Jared Palomar said in an interview with LiveDaily. "This whole record took a real turn from our last record. Our last record was really about traveling and being kind of nomads and trying to find a home and love. This time around, the subject matter definitely has more of a focus on finding that love." Expect Augustana, onetime VH1 "You Oughta Know" artists, to play new tracks from the album, which hits stores April 29, and the 2006 hit "Boston."

Performing Thursday, March 13, at 1 p.m. at SXSW Live (The Bat Bar), Austin Convention Center (500 E. Cesar Chavez St.); and Thursday, March 13, at Stubb's (801 Red River St.).
