It sounds like an outlandish idea: Take one Hanson, a member of Fountains of Wayne, the drummer from Cheap Trick and a Smashing Pumpkin and meld it into a supergroup. The result is Tinted Windows [ tickets ], which features vocalist Taylor Hanson, guitarist James Iha, bassist Adam Schlesinger and drummer Bun E. Carlos. On April 21, the group is set to release its self-titled debut album, a stripped-down, high-energy record that combines the strengths and identifiable styles of all four members, and yet doesn't really sound like anything else any of the four has done elsewhere, according to the band's publicist. And with three of the four band members contributing songs, there is a sense of diversity to the material.
