The Cranberries reunite for North American tour
The Cranberries ' Dolores O'Riordan announced yesterday via a press release that she and the original members of the band will reform for the first time in nearly seven years. The announcement came on the same day O'Riordan released her solo album "No Baggage."
The Cranberries, which had never officially broken up, got together in January and played a set at Dublin's Trinity College to commemorate O'Riordan being made an Honorary Patron of Trinity's Philosophical Society. The performance was the first time the band members had seen each other since 2003. After playing together, they realized how much they missed each other and decided to put an end to the hiatus, according to a press release.
The Cranberries will hit the road at the end of the year for a North American tour. European dates will follow early next year.
O'Riordan said she and the band will be writing and performing new songs during the tour, as well as playing tunes from her solo album and a selection of The Cranberries' hits including "Zombie" and "Linger."
