The Cult rolls out more shows
Revitalized rockers The Cult have tacked more dates onto the end of their upcoming Jagermesiter Music Tour schedule, which now stretches through the first week of December.
Since last check, the group--which kicks off the outing next week--has added late November shows in Chicago, St. Louis and Minneapolis; and early December stops in Milwaukee, Denver and San Francisco. The itinerary is included below.
In addition to headliners The Cult, the Jagermeister Music Tour will feature rotating support from Smile Empty Soul, Evolocity, Empty Crush, The Showdown, Brand New Sin, The Niki Barr Band, Rumor Factor, Semisextile, Signal, Mindsight and Death By Stereo. Specific details about the openers is posted at the tour's website.
Led by frontman Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy--the group's only original members--the band is working the road behind its recently released album, "Born Into This." The set features the cut "Dirty Little Rockstar," which was featured in the latest episode of the new CBS drama "Cane."
"Born Into This" is The Cult's first collection of new material since 2001's "Beyond Good and Evil." During the interim, Astbury stayed busy working with original Doors members Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek; the trio--known as Riders on the Storm--mounted a number of tours performing material originally recorded by The Doors.
During a recent interview with LiveDaily, Astbury admitted he's no fan of life on the road.
"I hate touring, to be honest with you," he said. "I don't like traveling on a tour bus. But I like playing the shows. For those two hours, it better be a bloody good show because performing makes it worthwhile."
