The Faint keeps busy with late year tour
With no new product to push of late, indie rockers The Faint have lined up a three-week tour late in the year, "so we don't get rusty," according to their website.
The Nebraska band, whose last studio release was 2004's "Wet From Birth," will hit 15 cities over 16 dates, most of them concentrated on the West Coast. The tour kicks off Nov. 28 in Denver.
The band will finish up with a two-night stand in its Omaha, NE, hometown, starting Dec. 16. Indie rock-electronica duo Ratatat will hold down the opening slot for most of the upcoming tour dates.
Originally known as Norman Bailer, The Faint was formed in 1994 and has undergone a large number of personnel and stylistic changes over the years. In recent years, the band's members have worked increasingly with various DJs on electronic remix projects. "Wet From Birth," released in September 2004, is the group's fifth studio album.
Band member Joel Petersen recently contributed a remix to Of Montreal's "Satanic Twins" remix album, under the banner of his Broken Spindles side project.
Ratatat's second album, "Classics," hit stores in August.
