Four musicians performing under the guise of three different bands-- The Minus 5 [ tickets ], The Baseball Project and Steve Wynn [ tickets ] IV--will hit the road together this summer.

The lineup will consist of Steve Wynn (Dream Syndicate, Danny & Dusty), R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey of Young Fresh Fellows and Linda Pitmon (Zuzu's Petals, Golden Smog), with the tour kicking off Aug. 26 in Portland, OR, and continuing through early October. Dates are below.

"I'm fairly certain it won't be a typical three-band bill with separate sets," Wynn said in a press release.
"And I have a feeling we'll be mixing it up and changing from night to night."

Buck and McCaughey perform together in The Minus 5; McCaughey, Wynn and Pitmon perform together as Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3, while Buck, McCaughey and Pitmon formed The Baseball Project last year.

Originally created as a side project and pop collective in 1993 by Buck and McCaughey, The Minus 5 has released eight studio albums to date including "Killingsworth," which was released in June, on the same day McCaughey and his Young Fresh Fellows released their latest album, "I Think This Is."

The Baseball Project released its debut album, the baseball-themed "Volume 1: Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails," last summer.

Steve Wynn and The Miracle 3's most recent release was 2005's "..tick...tick...tick." Wynn released his most recent solo album, "Crossing Dragon Bridge," in 2008.
