The Offspring, The Transplants, others sign on for Warped Tour
The 11th annual Vans Warped Tour will feature The Offspring , The Transplants, My Chemical Romance, The Starting Line and Senses Fail, organizers announced.
Also among the other artists on board are The Bled, The Explosion, Dropkick Murphys, Thrice, MxPx, Avenged Sevenfold, Something Corporate, Strung Out, Hawthorne Heights, Atreyu, Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, Tsunami Bomb, The Matches and Horrorpops. A full list of confirmed acts appears below.
A roster of "prominent athletes joining the tour from the action sports world will be announced soon," according to a press release.
Among the the traveling festival's new attractions for 2005 will be the "Amateur Skate Jam," a daily contest during which pro-skaters will judge 20 local amateur skaters in each market who will compete for various levels of prize money. Skaters must register in advance at their local Vans store. More information is available at the tour's website.
At the site, fans can also cast their vote for which act they'd like to see play an additional 10 minutes when the tour touches down in the voters' respective markets. The sponsor-heavy tour's new feature is dubbed "Energizer Keeps the Music Going."
Returning attractions include "Reverse Day Care," an air-conditioned area where kids can drop off their parents.
