The Sounds ride new wave to US
Swedish new-wave rockers The Sounds just kicked off their second US tour of the year.
Through Nov. 21, they'll crisscross the country opening for Angles & Airwaves (former Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge's new band). Then they'll begin a headlining stint with special guests Shiny Toy Guns that runs into December.
Earlier this year, The Sounds completed an extensive North American tour to support their sophomore album, "Dying to Say This to You," released in March. They followed that with a European outing with Panic! At the Disco, which wrapped at the end of October.
By the time the year is over, The Sounds will have played at least 200 concerts in 2006, according to their MySpace page.
The Sounds, formed in the late '90s, have drawn comparisons to Blondie, Missing Persons and The Cars. Their first album, "Living in America," was released in the US in 2003 following a successful debut in Sweden.
