The Virgins make tour plans into spring
New Wave-inspired indie-rockers The Virgins will keep busy on the road through early spring, riding a full-scale tour schedule behind the band's June debut album.
The group tackles a slate of West Coast shows in December before taking a break for the holiday. The tour starts up again Jan. 21 in Philadelphia, with more than 20 dates lined up before the group's March 6 appearance at Miami's four-day outdoor Langerado Festival. Details are included below.
The band worked with the production team of Sam Hollander and Dave Katz (S*A*M and Sluggo) on its self-titled debut album, which features several songs that previously appeared on the group's "The Virgins '07" EP.
The lead single, "Private Affair," can be heard streaming at The Virgins' website, along with two other songs from the debut.
The Virgins formed in 2006 after frontman Donald Cumming and guitarist Wade Oates met at a Ryan McGinley photoshoot. The pair joined with bassist Nick Zarin-Ackerman and drummer Erik Ratensperger and began playing downtown NYC parties before signing with Atlantic Records.
