Third Eye Blind continues push behind 'Ursa Major'

Pop-rockers Third Eye Blind are heading out on a US tour of clubs and college campuses in support of their summertime release, "Ursa Major."

The band continues the outing tonight (10/8) with a performance in Harrisonburg, VA. The 23-date trek focuses on college campuses throughout the East and Midwest through the end of October, followed by a handful of club performances scattered throughout the South and along the West Coast. The schedule currently concludes with a Nov. 17 concert in Fayetteville, AR. Details are below.

Third Eye Blind released "Ursa Major" in August, a week earlier than originally intended due to an unsanctioned online leak. Frontman Stephen Jenkins asked that those who illegally downloaded the new set donate money to a local charity.

"Ursa Major," which marks the band's fourth studio set and first new album since 2003's "Out of the Vein," debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and landed the band its highest-charting album of its career. A follow-up titled "Ursa Minor" is already in the works, though a release date has not yet been announced.

Third Eye Blind hit radios hard in the late '90s with its 1997 eponymous debut, which included the chart-topping singles "Semi-Charmed Life," "How's It Going To Be," "Graduate" and "Jumper."

"We're not interested in being the revered band of the '90s," Jenkins said in a recent interview with VH1. "We put out most of our albums after the '90s. We're interested in being vital now. We've never been No. 1 before, so it feels like a gift being given to us really by our fans."
