Travis Tritt tours his way into New Year

Country crooner Travis Tritt has extended his sporadic touring schedule into the fall and winter, visiting casinos and clubs throughout the South into next year.

The performer will hit the tour trail beginning with a Nov. 7 show in Fort Worth, TX. Eight dates currently are scheduled, including stops at casinos in Tulsa, OK (11/14); Biloxi, MS (1/15); and Florence, IN (1/30), before concluding April 17 in Thomaston, GA. Details are shown below.

Tritt continues to support his most recent studio set, "The Storm," which surfaced in 2007. The country/soul album, produced by American Idol judge and Grammy winner Randy Jackson, peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, and includes guest performers Charlie Daniels and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The record scored a country hit with the Richard Marx-penned song "You Never Take Me Dancing," which is Tritt's 40th Top 40 single.

"The Storm" marked Tritt's first set of new material in three years. Following 2004's highly acclaimed "My Honky Tonk History," he parted ways with Columbia Records due to differing opinions on that project's direction, according to a previous posting at his website.

During his career, the country singer has sold more than 25 million records and racked up two Grammys and three Country Music Association Awards.
