Trivium wrapping up Mayhem, preps for 'Mouth of Hell'

Florida metalheads Trivium will launch the "Into the Mouth of Hell We" tour--their first solo headlining trek in three years--this fall.
The thrash-metal band will complete the remaining nine dates of the in-progress Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival before taking a month-long hiatus, followed by the Sept. 11 kick-off of the cluband-heater tour. The first leg of the 63-date excursion takes the group from one coast to the other before concluding Oct. 11 in Asheville, NC. The full schedule is shown below.
Whitechapel, Darkest Hour and Dirge Within will serve as opening support for this leg; more dates will be announced in September, according to Trivium's website.
"It's been far too long since we've toured North America as a headliner and we're back with a vengeance," guitarist Matt Heafy said the group's website.
After each show, ticketholders will be able to download from the Trivium website a full digital soundboard recording of the concert they attended using a unique code on each ticket stub.
The metal outfit released its fourth studio set, "Shogun," last fall. One track--"Into the Mouth of Hell We March"--is featured on the soundtrack for the "Madden NFL 09" video game.
