Indie rockers Vampire Weekend [ tickets ] have lined up a spring headlining outing in support of the band's forthcoming second album, "Contra," which is due in stores next week.

After launching the album at a Jan. 12 listening party in Los Angeles, the band will tackle three shows later this month in its hometown of New York City before heading overseas for a European tour during the month of February. The US and Canadian outing kicks off March 14 in Edmonton, Alberta, and continues through an April 19 closer in Oakland, CA. Dates for the 24-city North American portion of the tour are included at right.

"Contra," Vampire Weekend's sophomore album, is due at both traditional and online retailers Jan. 12. The 10-track album is currently streaming in full at the band's website.

The new set will follow the group's eponymous 2008 debut, which sold more than 27,000 copies during its first week and debuted at No. 17 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The album's first single, "Cousins," hit radio airwaves in November. The official music video for the song can be found at Vampire Weekend's MySpace page.
