Vic Chesnutt plots fall tour through 'Cut'

Singer/songwriter Vic Chesnutt has whipped up a fresh batch of North American headlining dates for this fall to support his recent new studio album, "At the Cut."
The Athens, GA, resident will get things started Oct. 23 in Ottawa, Ontario, and the road trip encompasses stops in 29 cities, wrapping with a Dec. 5 show in Austin, TX. Details are included below.
Chesnutt's latest studio release, "At the Cut," features the same basic crew that helped record 2007's "North Star Deserter," and also the same group that Chesnutt will bring on the road with him to support the album: guitarist Guy Picciotto from Fugazi, along with Thierry Amar (bass), Efrim Menuck (guitar), Jessica Moss (violin) and David Payant (drums) of Silver Mt. Zion, along with Nadia Moss (piano, organ) and Chad Jones (guitar).
The set, which was co-produced by Picciotto and Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire), surfaced last month.
Last year, Chesnutt teamed with indie rockers Elf Power to release the album "Dark Developments" under the moniker The Amorphous Strums.
