Wolf Parade plots tour dates on 'Mount Zoomer'
Canadian indie rockers Wolf Parade have a lined up a quick headlining tour later this fall as they support their sophomore studio effort, "At Mount Zoomer."
The five-piece band will wait until singer/keyboardist Spencer Krug finishes his fall tour with his side project, Sunset Rubdown, before commencing the Wolf Parade run Nov. 1 in Buffalo, NY. The outing will travel through 12 cities during its two-week run. Dates are below.
Krug and guitarist Dan Boeckner (whose own side project, Handsome Furs, recently wrapped a summer tour) handled the bulk of the songwriting duties for "At Mount Zoomer," the follow up to the group's critically acclaimed 2005 debut, "Apologies to the Queen Mary." The new set hit stores in June.
"After 'Apologies' we wrote about four or five new songs," Boeckner said in the band's online biography, "but we decided to throw them out because they sounded too much like what we'd already done. We could have easily made another 'Apologies' but what would have been the point?"
According to Boeckner, half of the album was recorded at the same former church used by fellow Canadians Arcade Fire for their last album, "Neon Bible," while the remainder was put to tape in Montreal following the band's East Coast tour late last year.
