Wynonna pushes 'Sing' outing into late fall
Wynonna will continue supporting "Sing: Chapter 1," her first new studio set in six years, with an extended North American tour.
The Kentucky-based songstress, who is celebrating her 25th year in country music, has unveiled a slate of 16 fall shows, beginning with a Nov. 6 performance in Prior Lake, MN. The trek winds through the nation, visiting casinos and theaters through the two-night conclusion (12/19-12/20) in Las Vegas. Details are included below.
"Sing: Chapter 1," Wynonna's seventh solo set, surfaced in February and peaked at No. 5 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The mostly-covers album features songs from Burt Bacharach ("Anyone Who Had a Heart"), Hank Williams ("I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"), Merle Haggard ("Are the Good Times Really Over") and Stevie Ray Vaughan ("The House Is Rockin'), as well as one original song, "Sing," which was written by fellow country singer Rodney Crowell.
"All my musical chapters are here--every genre," the performer explained in a message posted at her website. "These are the songs that have moved me ever since I was a little girl. These are the songs I have turned to for comfort and insight at every point of my life."
