"American Idol" runner-up Kaharine McPhee, in a letter posted on a fan site she's in frequent contact with, said she hopes to join the television show's spin-off tour later this month.
"I have heard a rumor that I will be missing the entire tour, I can assure you that that is completely false," McPhee wrote in a letter posted Tuesday (7/11) on the site katharinefans.com. "I am looking to join the tour around the 21st. That is the doctor's orders, not mine."
The "American Idols Live " tour has been traveling the US without McPhee since its July 6 launch. Organizers announced shortly before the tour opened that the singer was battling severe bronchitis and laryngitis.
"I want you all to know ... that I had no control over the fact that I couldn't be on tour for the next couple of weeks," McPhee wrote. "My doctor shut me down. I was absolutely devastated. I feel horrible for the fans that missed me and would love to make up to you all some how. But first and foremost I must get better so that I can have a great and long career. I want to be able to see all your faces one day on my very own tour."
As previously reported, the "American Idols Live" tour features the show's latest winner, Taylor Hicks , as well as finalists McPhee, Paris Bennett, Bucky Covington, Chris Daughtry, Mandisa, Kellie Pickler, Lisa Tucker, Elliot Yamin and Ace Young.
The tour continues, sans McPhee, tonight (7/12) in Hershey, PA.
