R&B diva Patti LaBelle will continue her first ever gospel tour in late October, paving the road for the late November release of her first album of Christian music.
LaBelle's spiritual quest, which hit Dallas and Houston earlier this month, will resume Oct. 27 in Los Angeles, with guest performers Yolanda Adams and Shirley Caesar on hand as openers. The trek will primarily hit large African-American churches throughout the country.
The tour's sponsor, Chrysler, will have several 2007 model vehicles on hand and available for concert attendees to test drive. Chrysler has pledged $5 for every test drive during the outing to the University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Center.
LaBelle promises guest appearances along the road by performers who helped her with her upcoming studio album, "The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle," though she hasn't confirmed a slate of performers so far.
Set for a Nov. 21 release, the gospel album features cameo work by Mary-Mary, CeCe Winans, The Soul Seekers, Jay Moss, Ty Tribett and Wynona Judd. LaBelle's last studio effort was 2005's cover affair, "Classic Moments."
