Army of Anyone to storm clubs
Army of Anyone , featuring former Filter frontman Richard Patrick and former Stone Temple Pilots members/brothers Robert and Dean DeLeo, has lined up its first round of tour dates behind its forthcoming debut album.
The band, which has been playing in a scaled-down fashion during some recent radio-station appearances, will be unleashed beginning with a Nov. 18 concert in Philadelphia, and is so far scheduled to makes stops in seven cities by the end of that month. Details are included below.
Additional dates are expected, as a tour announcement from the group's publicist promises "shows through the end of the year" and a "full-scale tour" in 2007.
"We can not wait to get out there and play these songs in front of a live audience," Patrick said in a statement. "We've had a great time doing live on-air radio performances. But to be out there in front of a live crowd, that's what we've all been waiting for."
Four days before hitting the road, Army of Anyone offers up its self-titled debut, which the group recorded with veteran rock producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, Pink Floyd). The album's lead-off single, "Goodbye," is streaming at AOA's official website.
Army of Anyone grew out of Patrick's collaboration with bassist Robert DeLeo while writing material for a planned Filter album. The two ultimately decided to form a new project of their own with guitarist Dean DeLeo and drummer Ray Luzier, a renowned session player and former member of David Lee Roth's backing band.
