Alt-rockers AFI will hit the road in December for a number of radio station-sponsored Christmas shows, with a number of fresh headlining dates coming down the pipeline for early next year.
The band, which is still backing its chart-topping June album release, "Decemberunderground," will tackle a schedule that begins with a Dec. 1 appearance at the O-Rock "No Snow Show" in Orlando, FL. AFI will join Angels and Airwaves, Taking Back Sunday and Buckcherry for the holiday-themed event.
AFI will also fill a slot at the Dec. 10 "Nightmare Before Xmas" in San Diego, topping a bill that also features My Chemical Romance. A February tour will follow the band's Christmas shenanigans, starting with a Feb. 5 headlining show in New Orleans. Despair Faction will handle opening duties for all of the band's shows currently scheduled in 2007, which are shown below.
AFI has set a Dec. 12 release date for its first-ever live DVD, "I Heard a Voice." Screenings will take place in several cities around the country ahead of the disc's release; a full schedule of screenings is available at the band's website.
Released in June, "Decemberunderground" sold about 182,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to debut atop The Billboard 200 album chart. The feat marks AFI's first-ever No. 1 disc. The set features the hit single "Miss Murder."
