Melodic rockers Augustana will kick off the new year with a North American headline tour beginning Jan. 10 in San Francisco.
Dates so far are booked through Feb. 2, but more are expected to be announced via the band's website in a few weeks. Up-and-comers Vega 4 will open the shows, which are listed below.
The members of Augustana launched their most recent headline tour in August, and went out with Snow Patrol in September. They've also shared the bill with acts including the Counting Crows, Goo Goo Dolls, The Fray, Switchfoot and Stereophonics.
The band is still riding high on its 2005 major label debut, "All the Stars and Boulevards." Its best-known single, piano anthem "Boston," captures the contemplative, melodic sound that has impressed a host of music critics.
Several songs from the "All the Stars and Boulevards" are streaming at Augustana's MySpace page.
The band anticipates new music sometime next year, according to its publicist.
In the meantime, the guys are currently urging fans to vote for them in Yahoo! Music's monthly "Who's Next" competition, which has helped boost he careers of up-and coming artists.
