Bow Wow is up on 'The Price of Fame'

His new album isn't out yet, but Bow Wow 's latest single, "Shortie Like Mine," is already America's No. 1 rap record. He'll keep the buzz going with a US outing this month and a promise of bigger things to come.

The performer will kick things off with a Dec. 7 appearance at the KIIS FM Jingle Ball show in Anaheim, CA, then Bow Wow and Friends will play Eastern cities through the new year. On his MySpace page, the rapper reminds fans, "This is not the official Bow Wow arena tour. The big tour will be next year."

Bow Wow's fifth studio album, "The Price of Fame," is slated for release Dec. 19. It was produced by long-time Bow Wow collaborator Jermaine Dupri and features Chris Brown, R. Kelly, Lil Wayne, Pimp C, Lil Scrappy, T Pain and more, according to the Bow Wow's MySpace page.

"The Price of Fame" is the followup to Bow Wow's platinum-certified "Wanted," which was released in 2005.

In addition to his new album and tour schedule, Bow Wow has his own MTV cartoon, "Homeboyz," coming out next year and his own radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio to debut this month.

The busy rapper is also an actor, with film credits including "Like Mike," "All About the Benjamins" and "Johnson Family Vacation." He recently appeared in an episode of "Smallville."

Bow Wow (formerly Lil Bow Wow) is the youngest musician to ever open the Grammy Awards, according to a press release, and is in "The Guinness Book of World Records" as the youngest solo rapper to hit No. 1 on the US charts.
