Jamie Foxx hits the road with music and comedy

The full run of dates has been announced for the Jamie Foxx winter tour, which kicks off in San Diego, CA, Dec. 26 and crisscrosses the US through mid-February.

"American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino , who recently released her new self-titled album, will open several of the shows, which organizers describe as a unique blend of music and stand-up comedy.

The 19-city outing comes just in time for the Christmas release of Foxx's new movie, "Dreamgirls," co-staring Beyonce Knowles.

Foxx found fame as a comedian but he's come a long way since traveling the comedy circuit and starring on television shows including "In Living Color" and "The Jamie Foxx Show." The classically trained pianist showed off his first passion in the 2005 film "Ray," for which he won an Oscar.

Foxx's Grammy-nominated debut album, "Unpredictable," topped the charts in late 2005/early 2006 and sold more than 1 million copies in 20 days, according to a press release. It prompted an NBC television special that saw Foxx perform songs from the record with an all-star lineup that included Mary J. Blige, Common, Snoop Dogg, The Game and Angie Stone.

A few songs from the album are streaming at Foxx's MySpace page, as is the duet "Psst!" off of Snoop Dogg's new album.

Along with all of his other accolades, Foxx scored the 2006 American Music Award for Favorite Male Soul R&B Artist in October.
