Dierks Bentley gets pumped over concert DVD
Hard-touring country singer Dierks Bentley has his promotions machine working overtime as he prepares to release his first live concert DVD, "Live and Loud at the Fillmore," which hits stores March 20.
Fans in eight cities across the country--Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Philadelphia and Providence--will be treated to VIP screenings of the film, and Bentley will canvas more than 4,500 miles March 19-21 for surprise autograph signings and meet-and-greet sessions in five of those cities, according to a press release.
"It's my fans who got me to this point, and they played a huge part in making the DVD back in June," Bentley said in a statement. "The energy they give us every night is unbelievable. On the day this thing comes out, I want to be able to thank as many of them in person as I can."
The 90-minute DVD, which was shot last June at Denver's Fillmore Auditorium, was directed by London-based filmmaker Russell Thomas. It features Bentley performing some of his biggest hits along with tracks from his gold-certified October release, "Long Trip Home," which topped Billboard's country album chart. Additional behind-the-scenes footage gives viewers a taste of life on the road for the Phoenix native.
"Live and Loud at the Fillmore" will make its television debut on CMT this Thursday (3/15), and Bentley will perform on Fox & Friends live from the Houston Rodeo the next day. Other upcoming media appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CNN, AOL Sessions, TV Guide Channel, Country Weekly, People magazine and Men's Journal.
All this comes in the midst of Bentley's spring headlining tour, which has the singer rolling primarily through Eastern and Southern states with openers Jason Aldean , Eric Church and Miranda Lambert until April 28. Dates are listed below.
Moving into summer, Bentley will host his annual Last Call Ball party June 6 during the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. In mid-June, he will be the first mainstream country artist to perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN, according to a press release.
Last year was Bentley's most successful to date, with multiple Grammy, Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music award nominations. In addition to his No. 1 album, the performer scored three hit singles, embarked on his first headlining tour and spent more than 300 days on the road, according to a press release.
"Long Trip Home" follows Bentley's 2005 set, "Modern Day Drifter," and his 2003 self-titled debut, both of which have reached platinum status.
