Icelandic singer/songwriter Björk will play a few shows in the US and Canada in May to back her upcoming album, "Volta."
The singer will make an appearance at this year's Coachella festival before launching the rest of her North American run. Following her April 27 slot in Indio, CA, Björk will travel to New York for the first of three shows in three different Big Apple theaters, kicking off with a May 2 show at Radio City Music Hall.
The brief tour consists of seven headlining dates, which are listed below, before the singer packs up to start another European tour in June.
"Volta," scheduled to hit stores May 7, is the follow-up to 2004's "Medulla." Björk wrote and produced the set, with production assistance from Timbaland and Mark Bell on three tracks.
The album, Björk's sixth solo effort since departing The Sugarcubes in 1992, features several collaborations with other artists, including Antony Hegarty (Antony and the Johnsons), who appears on two tracks.
