Groundbreaking funk-ska band Fishbone is in the midst of a five-week national tour to promote its first album of original material in six years, "Still Stuck in Your Throat," due out April 24.
The tour includes two nights at Buffalo Bills in Whistler, British Columbia, as well as California stops on the Vans Warped Tour in Fresno, Sacramento, San Diego and Los Angeles. The itinerary is outlined below; more dates are expected to be announced soon.
Fishbone may not have been releasing original material of late, but it has been in the spotlight. The group was the house band in the OutKast film "Idlewild," and appears in Christina Aguilera's video for the Grammy-nominated song "Ain't No Other Man." Fishbone lead singer Angelo Moore appears on Gwen Stefani's CD "The Sweet Escape," and the band's cover of Sublime's "Date Rape"--from the album "Look at All the Love We Found: A Tribute to Sublime"--received airplay on alt-rock radio stations.
"Still Stuck in Your Throat," Fishbone's ninth studio album, was self-produced by the band, and marks the reunion of the band with mixer David Kahne, who turned the knobs for the band's most popular releases including "Fishbone," "Truth and Soul" and "The Reality of My Surroundings."
The current Fishbone lineup is: Moore, Norwood Fisher, John Steward, Dre Gipson, Rocky George (Suicidal Tendencies), Curtis Storey Jr. and John McKnight.
