With frontman Justin Furstenfeld apparently fully recovered from his recurring injury woes, alt-rockers Blue October have stacked a fall tour on top of their already busy summer schedule.
The Texas band, which is still supporting last year's "Foiled," has been energetically touring since being forced to postpone a bundle of shows following Furstenfeld's latest leg injury, which first cropped up in May of last year as a torn ligament. Now back on his feet, Furstenfeld has led his band through a whirlwind touring year, which continues July 6 in New Braunfels, TX, with a pair of shows kicking off the band's summer trek.
The summer dates include the band's Aug. 5 slot at Chicago's Lollapalooza Festival. The venerable music festival, now a permanent fixture instead of a travelling affair, takes place Aug. 3-5 in Chicago's Grant Park; for more information see the event's website.
Blue October will barely be finished with its summer tour obligations before the new fall dates kick in, launching Sept. 20 in Atlanta. The 17-city fall tour will feature support from Yellowcard and Shiny Toy Guns, with dates running through mid-November. Blue October's full schedule is included below.
Released last year, "Foiled" is the band's third studio album, following 2003's "History for Sale." The group recently announced via its website plans for a new live album, with the recording taken from its March 27 show in Austin, TX. The still-untitled set will be released later this year, according to the band.
