Tiesto rolls out 'Elements' of electronic summer outing
Electronica DJ Tiesto will back the release of his third album of original material with a summer tour highlighted by a pair of shows sharing the stage with Blue Man Group.
The Blue Men will join the Dutch DJ for the kickoff of his summer outing, a two-night stretch at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom starting July 19. Tiesto will then continue on alone to the remainder of the 24 cities he'll hit on the trek, which runs through mid-September. The full schedule is included below.
Concertgoers can expect production elements created by "equipment only used on big budget Hollywood sets," according to the tour's organizers, who also expect to nail down more dates for Tiesto in the near future.
"Elements of Life," Tiesto's third studio effort consisting of original compositions (the DJ has also released several re-mix albums), was released in early April, and peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Electronic Music chart. The disc has found its greatest retail success in Tiesto's homeland of The Netherlands, where the album has already been certified gold with sales of more than 35,000, according to the performer's record label.
The album features vocal contributions from a variety of guest performers, including Charlotte Martin, Christian Burns, longtime Tiesto collaborator BT and Julie Thompson of electronic duo Holden & Thompson.
