Singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco has added a late-summer leg of tour dates to her schedule as she makes her return to live performing following the birth of her daughter in January.
The new dates follow a previously announced slate of shows kicking off July 11 in San Diego. Following a Sept. 1 show in Knoxville, TN, DiFranco will hit seven more cities with upright bass player Todd Sickafoose as her only onstage accompaniment. Singer/songwriter Melissa Ferrick will open most of the freshly added shows. The itinerary is included below.
Pre-sales for the new September shows begin July 10, with public sales beginning shortly afterward for most venues. For more information on ticket availability, consult the singer's official website.
DiFranco continues to support "Reprieve," her 19th studio release in a career that dates back to her self-titled 1990 debut. The disc hit stores last August, following 2005's "Knuckle Down."
The singer gave birth to a daughter, Petah Lucia, in January at her Buffalo home. The child's father is Mike Napolitano, who's credited as the "recordist and mix doctor" on "Reprieve."
