Aerosmith plots North American trek

After touring all over the world this year, Aerosmith will be back in North America next week, and the veteran rockers recently added another run of US and Canadian dates in September.

The band is just wrapping a five-week tour of Europe and has scheduled a few more shows this month in Canada and California. Then, in mid-September, Aerosmith will take off again for a handful of dates primarily on the East Coast and in Toronto. The group will also be among the superstar acts to perform at the Sept. 6 Fashion Rocks event during New York's Fashion Week. The tour itinerary is listed below.

Since springtime, Aerosmith has entertained fans in Brazil, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates and India.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, who are still going strong after 30 years, put out a best-of collection last September. The set, titled "Devil's Got a New Disguise," also includes a couple of new songs--the title track and "Sedona Sunrise"--as well as a pop-remix version of the power anthem "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing." It follows the 2004 blues album, "Honkin' on Bobo," and 2005 live set "Rockin' the Joint."

The Grammy-winning band expects to release its 15th studio album next year, according to a report in the UK's Daily Mirror.

Aerosmith has sold upwards of 100 million albums in its career--65.5 million of those in the US--and has been named one of the best-selling American rock bands of all time by the Recording Industry Association of America.
