Dashboard Confessional frontman Chris Carrabba will return to his roots this fall by mounting a solo tour, his first without a backing band in five years.
The singer--who initially launched Dashboard Confessional as a solo act before expanding the project to include a full band--will kick things off Sept. 8 in Lehi, UT. The tour will hit about 30 cities between early September and mid-November, wrapping up with a number of East Coast shows centered on New York City. All dates are shown below.
A limited number of tickets will be set aside for the band's fans and will be doled out in a special pre-sale event.
Carrabba continues to support last year's "Dusk and Summer," which he wrote and recorded over a two-year period, with producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Linkin Park) at the helm. Carrabba also enlisted famed U2 collaborator Daniel Lanois to help with production.
The band toured extensively last year following the album's release, wrapping up with a sold-out show at New York's Madison Square Garden. According to a press release, Carrabba has started working on a new album, with the solo tour offering a preview of what will eventually appear on the next release.
