Queens of the Stone Age, Ludacris highlight Summer Krush tour

Queens of the Stone Age will kick off the inaugural Samsung/AT&T Summer Krush concert series, which will feature free shows in seven different cities this summer and fall.

The concert series--which looks to build exposure for Samsung's new line of music-oriented mobile phones--will also feature Ludacris , The Bravery , Kinky , Big & Rich, The All-American Rejects and Plain White T's . QOTSA get things started Aug. 13 in Los Angeles.

The trek will then travel to Atlanta (Ludacris), Chicago (The Bravery), Miami (Kinky), Dallas (Big & Rich), New York (The All-American Rejects) and San Francisco (Plain White T's) with the last show coming in mid-September. Venues for the tour will be announced soon, with the majority of dates expected to take place in 1,000-1,500 seat theaters.

Tickets to the shows will be given away variously through radio promotions, AT&T retail stores, and contests. Fans can also place their names on a standby list at the event's official website for a chance to receive admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must be over the age of 21.

Each concert will last approximately one hour, according to organizers, with Samsung and AT&T both providing kiosks promoting their respective wares.

AT&T will use the shows to promote its recent partnership with eMusic, which will allow the telecommunications company to provide a full-song, over-the-air music-downloading service, with subscribers gaining access to the entire 2.7 million-song eMusic catalog.
