Metalcore outfit Atreyu has announced the first round of headlining dates to support its upcoming album, which is due later this month.
The band is currently previewing material from its Hollywood Records debut, "Lead Sails Paper Anchor," on this summer's Family Values Tour . The hard-rock extravaganza has Atreyu third on the bill, behind Korn and Evanescence .
Once Family Values wraps in early September, Atreyu will launch its own US trek, the first leg of which spans from Washington to Florida. The outing, which will feature openers Haste The Day and It Dies Today, plus a special guest, is set to get under way Sept. 9 in Boise, ID. Atreyu's full itinerary is listed below.
"Lead Sails Paper Anchor," produced by John Feldmann (The Used, Good Charlotte), is Atreyu's first major-label project; the Southern California quintet ended its relationship with indie label Victory Records early this year.
Atreyu's latest studio set for Victory, last year's "A Death Grip on Yesterday," reached No. 9 on The Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the magazine's Top Independent Albums chart. The band also released a best-of collection early this year.
The forthcoming album's lead single, "Becoming the Bull," was recently the No. 1 most added song at active rock radio and is featured in EA Sports' new Madden NFL '08 video game, according to a press release. The song is streaming at Atreyu's MySpace page.
