Christian/crossover singer Amy Grant is getting ready to release her first career-spanning hits collection and has tour dates scheduled in North America through next year.
"Amy Grant: Greatest Hits," which is due Oct. 2, comprises 19 tracks from all of the singer's studio albums, including nine No. 1 and nine Top 5 pop and contemporary Christian radio hits. A special-edition DVD will add more than an hour of content, including a 40-minute interview with Grant, a rare acoustic performance, five music videos and a photo gallery.
The same day the hits collection drops, Grant's three holiday sets--"Christmas Album," "Home for Christmas" and "A Christmas to Remember"--will be reissued on CD and premiered digitally across all major digital sales providers (DSPs). Several of her music videos will also be made available for digital download for the first time.
Earlier this month, Grant's extensive catalog became available in CD quality at iTunes and other major DSPs.
Meanwhile, Grant is joining her hubby on " Vince Gill 's Friends and Family Tour," which plays the Minnesota State Fair tonight (8/29) in St. Paul. The outing, which also features The Del McCoury Band, will travel across the US through Sept. 11.
Grant will then play scattered dates on her own and with local symphony orchestras through mid-May. Her full concert schedule is listed below.
The performer will also do an October book tour to support her autobiography, "Mosaic," which is scheduled to hit stores Oct. 16. Book-signing dates are listed at Grant's website.
Grant, who's mainstream appeal is said to have opened the door for other Christian artists, has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide in her three-decade career, according to a press release. She has six Grammy Awards on her mantle along with 21 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, and she recently landed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
